What makes Piedmont home for you?
I’ve lived in Piedmont for 18 years. I chose this community for my family because of its welcoming atmosphere, strong academics, and outstanding athletic and band programs. I grew up in a small town outside Corpus Christi, Texas, where academics, athletics, band, and community pride were at the heart of everything—and Piedmont reminded me of that same spirit—WILDCAT SPIRIT!!! That sense of connection and pride is what inspired me to make Piedmont our home, and it’s what I love most about being part of this community.
What is your personal connection to soccer or youth sports?
I’m a proud mom of three girls (Brianna, Brooke, and Bailey Butler) who all grew up playing soccer and softball in the Piedmont community as well as in academy and recreational programs. Through their experiences, I saw firsthand how youth sports can shape young people—building strength, loyalty, resilience, communication skills, and a true sense of teamwork.
Some of my favorite memories come from the miles we drove, the endless loads of dirty uniforms, the smelly cleats and goalie gloves in the car, the sideline weather battles, and the post-game car talks filled with excitement or frustration. Every sweaty hug, every sunburned afternoon, and every moment of watching them grow made it all worth it. I loved being their sideline cheerleader and supporter.
Those years gave me a deep appreciation for what youth sports can do for kids and families, and that connection continues to inspire my involvement today.
What inspired you to become part of the Piedmont Soccer Association?
I joined the Piedmont Soccer Association because, as a mom of three athletes, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful youth sports can be in shaping kids and bringing a community together. I’ve watched how passionate Piedmont families are about supporting their athletes, and it’s a contagious energy! This inspires me to be part of a positive and growing movement that gives our kids a chance to learn, grow, and discover/develop their skills through academy and recreational programs locally.
What is your professional background, and what skills from this are you bringing to our team?
I bring more than 30 years of accounting experience and over 20 years of leadership across multiple industries, including energy, construction, manufacturing, retail, restaurant operations, and sports and entertainment. Earlier in my career at the Ford Center (now Paycom Center), I was part of the accounting team that supported the OKC Hornets and played a support role in bringing the OKC Thunder to Oklahoma City—an experience that gave me valuable insight into large-scale event operations, community engagement, and the business side of athletics.
Throughout my career, I’ve managed complex financial operations, led teams, improved processes, and supported organizations through periods of growth and transition. These experiences have strengthened my skills in communication, organization, problem-solving, and building efficient systems—all of which translate well to supporting a growing youth sports organization.
I’m excited to bring this blend of professional expertise and community-focused leadership to the Piedmont Soccer Association, helping strengthen our programs and create meaningful opportunities for young athletes in our community.
What is the most important lesson you hope young athletes learn on the field?
The most important lesson I hope young athletes learn on the field is that growth comes from effort, resilience, and teamwork. Wins and losses are part of the game, but the real value comes from learning how to push through challenges, support one another, communicate, and stay committed even when things get tough. These are lessons that stay with them long after the final whistle—shaping their confidence, character, and ability to handle life’s ups and downs.
What do you hope they’ll learn off the field?
If they walk away knowing that hard work, respect, and perseverance matter, then the game has done its job.
What is your all-time favorite sports memory, either playing, watching, or coaching?
One of my favorite sports memories comes from watching my daughters compete and grow through their own athletic journeys. As a proud mom of Brianna and Brooke Butler—who together hold the Piedmont record for the most State Championships—seeing Brianna earn five titles and Brooke earn six the following year was incredibly special. Those moments were defining for them, and unforgettable for me.
I also think back to watching Bailey compete as a 2010-born middle-schooler playing up on an ’07/’08 high-school-level competitive club team. Seeing her work hard, adapt, and rise to the challenge of playing alongside older, more advanced athletes was inspiring. Each of these experiences showed me the power of dedication, resilience, and believing in yourself—and they remain some of my most cherished sports memories.
